Responsibilities
The Director oversees the planning and business development functions of Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI). The Director works collaboratively with BNI senior leaders to develop, document, communicate, and monitor the BNI strategic plan and BNI business plans, and facilitates evaluation of clinical practice, medical education, and research business development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees business planning activities for BNI. Facilitates the preparation of the BNI strategic plan and periodic updates of the plan, and monitors ongoing implementation. Develops and documents BNI business plans in the formats required for leadership and governance approval. Periodically assesses if approved business plans have been successfully implemented and are achieving desired outcomes.
- In collaboration with BNI senior leaders, facilitates evaluation of clinical practice, medical education, and research business development opportunities for BNI. Determines if such opportunities align with the strategic objectives of BNI, are financially feasible, will enhance the BNI brand, and can be brought to fruition. Identifies any associated risks and any measures needed to mitigate such risks.
- In collaboration with BNI senior leaders, facilitates decisions about strategic affiliations and preferred relationships with other healthcare, research, education, insurance, medical device, and pharmaceutical organizations.
- Serves as the administrative interface to partner organizations, and facilitates bi-directional communication and ongoing coordination of joint activities and projects.
- Performs local/regional, system-wide, and national neuroscience market analyses, with emphasis on BNI market share, comparative cost effectiveness, and comparative quality.
- Stays current on healthcare and neuroscience trends and developments, interprets these trends and developments, and makes recommendations to senior BNI leaders about whether and how best to respond.
- Cultivates, develops, and maintains relationships with local, state and national leaders and organizations to promote BNI as a high quality provider of quaternary neurological healthcare services.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration, open communication, team work, and timely decision making to ensure that relevant BNI expertise is brought to bear on planning and business development decisions.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Education Required:
- 5 years experience in healthcare planning/business development or a related field.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelors degree.
- Master’s degree.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physicians and researchers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively navigate a matrix organizational structure.
- Excellent listening and influencing skills.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to write business plans and to create detailed pro forma financial schedules.
- Proven attention to detail, with strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of planning and business development tools and techniques, and competitor analysis tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated collaborative management style and strategic perspective.
- Project management skills.

$54.12 - $78.47 /hour
